KBS Cable Coating
All cables were manually cleaned to remove any dirt, dust, or contaminants to ensure proper adhesion of the fireproof coating.
Surrounding areas were carefully masked and protected to prevent any overspray from affecting nearby surfaces during the application process.
Cable identification markings were taped off to ensure they remained clear and unaffected by the coating application.
The KBS intumescent fireproof coating was applied to the cables following the manufacturer’s specifications. This coating provides fire resistance and protection as per the recommended guidelines.
After the coating had dried, the masking materials were removed, and any overspray was cleaned off, ensuring the finished surfaces were pristine and the cable markings were visible.
Chartek Structural Coating
All steelwork, covering an area of 320m², was light whip blasted to prepare the surface. This process ensured proper surface roughness for the coating to adhere effectively.
After blasting, all areas to be coated were manually cleaned to remove any residual dust, debris, or contaminants, ensuring a clean surface for the coating application.
The galvanized sections were solvent wiped to remove any oils, grease, or contaminants that could hinder the adhesion of the coating.
The Chartek 1709 fireproof coating was then applied in multiple layers, with a mesh layer placed between coats, to achieve a final dry film thickness (DFT) of 10.5mm. This process was followed carefully to meet the required protection standards for fire resistance.
